Bio

Seth was born in Livingston, NJ in the mid 70’s. It was a a turbulent time in the suburbs. His people had found a way to pay the bills and live comfortably, but a yearning for something more, something untouchable was growing in his heart.

It's not that compassion doesn't bubble my heart

At an early age, there was a regular fluctuation between vanity and deep personal reflection – money and shame, success and failure, love and hate.

The 80’s were awkward. He naturally found himself in a few musicals. The bunny in Alice in Wonderland. Daddy Warbucks in Annie.

He also found himself in high top sneakers with big flourescent laces. Black and red Air Jordans.
And divorce.
Where is love?

Late 80’s, early 90’s, Seth played drums in two high school bands, for about 5 minutes each.

lived in cars and camping. Sometimes apartments. Went to see a lot of live music, went to a couple Rainbow Gatherings where no one used money and lots of people were naked in the middle of the woods, in the middle of the country for weeks at a time.

Then Transcendental Meditation, Buddhism, a Hare Krishna temple in San Fransisco to pray at 3a.m. Seeing mostly Jewish guys in pink robes bowing to life sized statues of Indian men and being fed sugar for breakfast had the affect of shattering some strongly held illusion that some people somewhere had a some kind of key to some other-worldly life.

Ended the 90’s trying yeshiva a few times. Wake to coffee and cake. Study about God all day and then eat hot dogs on Styrofoam plates, and no soap in the bathroom. All in all, a challenging decade.

End of the 90’s beginning of the 00’s: Burlington, VT, wearing a turban, sporting a long beard and playing in a rock band called The World to Come. Saturday mornings in the winter, walk to the creek, break the ice and jumping into ice cold springs. Coming back to the house and eating exotic, tropical fruits. Looking for something out of life – something beyond the ordinary experience – where is the meaning?

Moved to NYC in August of 2001. A few weeks later was 9/11/01. Came out of a morning service and people were huddled around a computer. Walked outside and looked downtown. Saw smoke. People were talking like a small Cessna had crashed into one of the World Trade Center buildings. He got on a bus heading south from 33rd street. After about a dozen blocks, the bus was diverted west. All the buses were diverted. That changed a lot. Again.

He moved to the Shawangunk Mountains. Beautiful and fertile.

The region was once inhabited by the Esopus Indians, who were later conquered by the Iriquois Indians.

The rest is modern history and too early to tell.

The album Waking From the Dream begins to tell the story.

His music is energetic and honest. It’s music for the heart the soul and the hips.
